About Us
Founded in 2007, Salem Arts Association is an entirely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization located in Salem’s historic Derby Street district. Our mission is to bring art in all its forms to the community and bring the community in all its diversity to the arts in Salem, Massachusetts. Situated between the House of Seven Gables and Salem Maritime National Historic Site, we serve as a cultural hub for artists and art enthusiasts alike.
Our Programs & Services
We offer year-round exhibitions, workshops, events and gallery space that showcase diverse artistic talents across all media and disciplines. Our historic 159 Derby Street location provides an immersive arts experience that’s free and open to the public.

Gallery Experience
Our gallery showcases rotating exhibitions featuring work from over 250 member artists across various mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and more. The historic building’s atmosphere creates an intimate setting for experiencing contemporary and traditional artwork.
