The Cabot is pleased to announce its schedule for the month of October, filled with live events, movies, community events, sprinkled with some spookiness.
The scares begin with the showing of Psycho on October 1, with different classic movies each week, bringing on the chills. Whose Line is it Anyway? comedians Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood hit the stage with their The Scared Scriptless Tour on October 2. Transitioning to live music, Tommy Emmanuel will be strumming the guitar, along with Andy McKee, at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston on October 3. On October 6, The Cabot will be hosting its next “Community Conversations” event in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, screening the documentary film, Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, with a discussion to follow. Tom Rush’s Club 47 featuring Tom Rush and Leo Kottke brings more tunes on October 9, with special guests Matt Nakoa and Monica Rizzio. Postmodern Jukebox gives a vintage filter on today’s hits October 14; Gregory Alan Isakov & Patty Griffin perform to a sold out crowd on October 22, plus much more all month long!
Starting October 26, each Tuesday will host two workshops for kids of two age groups. The Backyard Youth Theatre will be running a Youth Creative Theatre Arts Workshop at The Cabot. Backyard Youth Theatre belongs to young people who use the power of their imaginations in backyards around the world. Through creativity, self expression, empathy and cultural exchange, we create fun, brave spaces for youth. BYT utilizes the power of creative arts to create environments where youth are empowered to create radically inclusive communities. The program will run until Tuesday, December 7.
As of September 17th, new health & safety policies have taken effect at the theater. Patrons attending concerts and live events are required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test administered within 72 hours prior to the event. Patrons are required to show their vaccination card or test results and a government issued ID prior to entering. Photocopies or a photo on your phone of medical records will be accepted provided all information is visible. For movies, community events and children’s programming, The Cabot has limited capacity to 50% and uses a ticketing system that maintains 2 seats between groups. Some artists are also requiring that masks be worn regardless of vaccination or testing status. Please check the web page specific to your event for event specific protocols. About The Cabot
For a century, The Cabot in Beverly has been a local treasure, a dream palace at the heart of the downtown, and a welcoming gathering place for generations of North Shore residents. Originally known as The Ware, this opulent, neoclassical-style theater was built in 1920 by the renowned architectural firm Funk & Wilcox. Originally used for vaudeville shows and silent movies, it was later owned by the movie chain E.M. Loews. In 1976, The Cabot was purchased by Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company, and for the next 36 years was home to this world-famous magic show. The Cabot is now being transformed into a 21st century venue for audiences of all ages, with nationally recognized live performers, current and classic movies and community events.
