Marblehead Little Theatre is excited to announce the production of The Pirates of Penzance, with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert. Produced and directed by Robert Kerrigan, with associate direction by Kelly Murphy and music direction by Thomas Smoker, The Pirates of Penzance will be performed in concert at Abbot Hall in Marblehead, MA.
This comedic opera follows the story of Frederic, who has just been released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He instantly falls in love with Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley. However, their luck is fleeting when Frederic learns he may need to serve as an apprentice to the pirates for much longer than anticipated. The plot thickens when the pirates kidnap Mable’s sisters, a maid falls for Frederick, and Major-General Stanley is caught in a lie! This booming comedy is thrilling and chaotic, complete with a full chorus and an orchestra!
Performances are March 31, April 1 and 2 at 7:30pm, and April 3 at 3:00pm. Main Floor Seats are reserved at café tables, 4 seats per table, at $40 per ticket. Balcony Seats are General Admission at $25 per ticket.
