About Us
Teller of Tales Tours is owned by Stephanie Clements, a storyteller and end-of-life doula with nearly a decade of experience guiding historical tours. Stephanie specializes in bringing Salem’s rich maritime history to life through engaging and thoughtful storytelling, drawing from her educational background at Salve Regina University and Wheelock College. Her passion lies in revealing the fascinating stories that often get overshadowed by Salem’s more famous witch trial history—particularly the swashbuckling world of pirates, privateers, and seafaring adventures that shaped this coastal city.

Maritime History Focus
Salem’s rich maritime history is often overshadowed by the Witch Trials of 1692, but there is so much more to discover. Research suggests that pirate trials in 1690, involving the same magistrates from the witch trials, may have actually helped ignite the hysteria that followed. Through theatrical tours and authentic storytelling, Stephanie brings this overlooked history to life while honoring the human stories behind historical events.
Beyond tours, the legacy storytelling services reflect Stephanie’s calling to work with individuals nearing the end of life, helping them create meaningful keepsakes for loved ones. This work combines her passion for storytelling with her training as an end-of-life doula, offering families a way to preserve precious memories and stories.
