Get ready everybody – we’re doing what we do best – coming together to lift each other up while having an absolute blast! This August 1-3 weekend is packed with three incredible fundraisers that put the “FUN” front and center while supporting causes that matter deeply to our community.
Supporting our community? Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Kicking off our fun-filled fundraising weekend, the hardcore scene is bringing the heat for the Salem Survival Program! This all ages, sober show is proof that our music scene isn’t just about great sound – it’s also about great hearts.
The Lineup:
- Iron Gag – Northeast metalcore power
- Latch – MA punk energy
- Hyperfang – Nu crossover intensity
- Pocket Knife – New England hardcore at its finest
- Southgate – Boston hardcore legends
MOON is an inclusive, sober space that welcomes everyone, especially for a great cause. The Salem Survival Program provides life-saving harm reduction services, and every ticket helps expand their critical community work.
Who says saving lives can’t involve epic breakdowns, blast beats, and power chords?
August 2: Seaside, Sweat & Sips

Day Two brings the perfect summer combo: fitness with a view, followed by well-deserved refreshments! Start with a strength workout overlooking the stunning Beverly/Salem Harbor, then transition to Starbird’s waterfront bar for drinks, snacks, and more socializing.
What You Get:
- Scenic waterfront workout that’ll make you forget you’re exercising
- Post-sweat socializing at Salem’s hottest new waterfront spot
- Delicious snacks and refreshing drinks
- Exclusive COAST summer swag bag bursting with sunny day vibes
All proceeds support the Woman’s Friend Society, empowering Salem women since 1876. Nearly 150 years of women supporting women – now that’s worth working up a sweat for!
August 3: Write from the Heart: A Salem Lit Fest Romance Writing Workshop

Wrapping up our fundraising trifecta, romance takes center stage! With the genre having its biggest cultural moment ever, there’s no better time to learn than now from viral TikTok author Betty Cayouette in this hands-on workshop.
Three Hours of Romance Magic:
- Discover what makes romantic dynamics irresistible
- Master the essential “beats” of romance storytelling
- Map out your own swoon-worthy plot
- Craft the perfect logline that hooks readers from hello
Come with a romance idea ready to workshop and leave with the tools to make hearts flutter. Light refreshments and pastries will be served to keep your creativity flowing.
All proceeds fund the 2025 Salem Literary Festival, ensuring our community continues celebrating the written word in all its forms.
Benefit Bonus: The Making of a Witch — A Play in One Act – Our History, Our Story

And here’s something truly special for our community – a chance to experience our own Salem history through the eyes of Philip English, brought to life by our neighbors at St. Peter’s – San Pedro Episcopal Church. This isn’t just any historical drama; it’s our story, researched through actual church archives and historical documents right here in Salem.
An Authentic Salem Experience:
- Written by Rory O’Brien and edited by renowned Salem historian Marilynne Roach
- Based on extensive research through local church archives and historical documents
- The true story of Philip English – successful Salem businessman who narrowly escaped the witch trials
- A man whose legacy includes founding a church that still serves our community today
This powerful one-act play captures the essence of someone who helped shape the Salem we know and love. When we attend, we’re not just supporting the arts – we’re supporting the ministries and historic preservation of St. Peter’s – San Pedro Episcopal Church, ensuring that both our spiritual community and our historical treasures continue to thrive.
Our Community, Our Causes, Our Weekend Together
August 1-3 shows that we know how to party with purpose! Whether you’re:
- Moshing for survival services
- Lunging for women’s empowerment
- Writing for literary arts
- Watching for historic preservation
Let’s have a blast while supporting causes that strengthen and enrich our community. Each event showcases a different side of our vibrant spirit – our love of creativity, music, wellness, theatre and most importantly taking care of one another.
It’s not just fundraising, it’s fun, fun, fundraising! Three days where doing good feels great, where community connection happens organically, and where every dollar raised comes with a smile.
This weekend is pure magic – whether you’re a longtime resident or new to our community, this weekend has a place for you. Come for the music, the movement, the words, or the performance – but really, come for the connection. Come to be part of something bigger than yourself, surrounded by neighbors and friends who feel more like family.
So mark your calendars, rally your crew, and get ready for the most entertaining way to make a difference. All are invited to the FUN!
See you there for three days of epic community fun!
