About Us

Established in 2013, Far From the Tree is a craft cider house in Salem, Massachusetts, specializing in unique, high-quality hard cider made from a variety of local apples and quality ingredients. Most apples don’t fall far from the tree, and the ciders made from them are generally quite similar—Far From the Tree is making cider based on a very different philosophy. Recently, the cidery has also started serving a variety of beers, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves when they visit. The fun, easygoing taproom features live bands and shows, food pop-ups, trivia, craft nights, and much more.

• Nova (6.5% ABV) – Dry hopped with Galaxy, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Cascade hops with tropical fruit and citrus aromas
• Salem (6.5% ABV) – Dry cider
• McIntire (6.5% ABV) – New England apple cider

Seasonal & Specialty:

• Apple of My Chai – Semi-sweet cider with black tea, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and orange peel
• Sugar Plum Fairy (6% ABV) – Spiced plum and almond
• Bog (6.3% ABV) – Cranberry and herb spiced
• Gingerbread (6.3% ABV) – With molasses and spices
• Barrel Aged Sour (6.6% ABV) – Oaky spontaneously fermented
• Aquarius (6.6% ABV) – White peach and lemon

Taproom & Location

Located at 108 Jackson Street in Salem, less than 1 mile from the train station and a quick walk from downtown. The taproom is open for flights, full pours, and to-go purchases. The space is available for private events.

Ciders available in 4-packs and single cans including Nova, Salem Dry Cider, Bog, Gingerbread, and seasonal releases. Merchandise available including apparel, glassware, and collaborations like the McIntosh Apple & Maple Bourbon Candle with French Press.
