In your own words…  what do you do? Describe the thing(s) you “make/create.”

We have always admired artists who spend their lives devoted to just one medium but, alas, that is not us. We have come to terms with our inner corvidae and chase whatever art supplies can’t out-run us.
What that means is a steady supply of unique small-batch and limited-edition works of book-art, resin jewelry, gothic wearables, steampunk birdhouses, acrylic pours, NASA crayon works, re-purposed vintage pieces and anything else that catches our eye!

The world is curious — what inspires you to “make/create”?

I personally feel very attached to my Scottish/Irish heritage, more specifically, to the old-world folklore and magic of the Celtic and pagan traditions and I like to feel that it comes through in my designs. I thrive on repurposing bits and pieces that I find in my wanderings. An old book becomes necklaces, or a purse. Antique drawer-pulls become arm bands or bag closures. I love to create using illusion, vintage illustration and tiny or intricate elements. I’m hoping to inspire a sense of mystery and wonder, to create items that inspire conversation and carry a story that needs to be shared.

Roughly how much are you expecting in losses over the next month?

$1000.00+ in sales from fairs and festivals that have been cancelled

What measures are you taking to reduce lost revenues?

Luckily I have a Day job but, my wife is a full-time maker and painter so she will be filing for unemployment, applying to the MCC for grant monies and to grant funds from ArtistRelief.org. We are now taking custom orders and making as much use of social media as humanly possible. I am streamlining our web-hosting and tax software to cut costs. (https://www.waveapps.com/pricing  is really useful and free) and moving to more We are using the down-time to prep as much of our normal holiday products as possible so we can cut down on the stress later.

What do you think could help everyone in this challenging time?

Honestly, if you can’t afford to buy, please share, like, post, favorite EVERYTHING you like from EVERY artist/maker/business that catches your eye! If you CAN afford to buy, please go through your feeds and throw some monies at the full-time artists and those that currently don’t have a day-job anymore. For everyone…. focus on the things you appreciate in life and let your personal creativity bring you strength and peace.
