In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
Birch Moon Rising is a combination vintage/antique shop, a small herbal apothecary and a metaphysical store. It’s meant to feel like you are shopping in an outdoor, wooded glen at twilight. We aim to have something for anybody who walks through the door and are happy to connect people with products that will resonate with them. We pull a Tarot Card of the day and suggest jewelry to enhance its energy.

Birch Moon Rising grew out of our shared love of antiques and historical artifacts, as well as our continued quest for personal growth and desire to use and craft natural products. We have both always loved items with history and significance, especially old Victorian houses. Carissa has an art history degree and has worked in local museums and we have both always had a passion for archaeology, history, historical fiction and places steeped in stories and mystery.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
Probably the Telepathy Tapes podcast, followed by several podcasts with alternate takes for a balanced view. It really had us thinking about what is possible, what is real, how our minds work, and how we are all connected to each other and the universe. Also Fantastic Fungi and the way that mushrooms are connected through the soil like neurons in your brain. Fascinating.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
Carissa will do a single card pull for anybody who wants it and will also suggest a vintage or antique jewelry piece specifically for that card pull.
