In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
Salem Horror Fest is a multi-day film festival that includes original programming, events, panels and workshops. We are comprised of a rag-tag group of volunteers and die-hard horror fans. We aim to open conversations and challenge our guests. As co-director, I want our guests and filmmakers to walk away from this experience feeling elevated and inspired.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
Salem Horror Fest is a labor of love for us. We bring together horror fans from across the globe with our original programming and we try to create spaces and conversations that are provocative and enlightening. As co-director, I want our guests and filmmakers to walk away from the experience feeling elevated and inspired. Our team works tirelessly to organize programming and events for the festival and at the end of the day, I want us all to feel some measure of hope, that we can create and through creation, maybe we can change things for the better.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma by Jane Schoenbrun. Camp Miasma proves that horror can be funny, filthy, wildly queer and unapologetically human all at once, This is exactly the space that Salem Horror Fest occupies.
