In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
High Tide Media Company provides social media marketing, content creation, website development, photography, videography & graphic design services to small businesses in the Boston area. We work with business owners 1:1 to make sure that the visual media content not only meets their business needs but shows their personality and value as well. Each client is treated like family and we work together to elevate their business’s digital presence.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
I started High Tide Media Company to combine my passion for visual media & supporting small businesses. Coming from a family of small business owners, the concept of entrepreneurship was something that was instilled in me at a young age and my long-term career goals were always to have my own business. I never thought at 24 years old that my dream would become my reality and now I get to support small businesses with their social media strategy.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
I listen to “The Freelance Friday Podcast” hosted by Latasha James for business advice & how to go about being a social media agency owner. Her story is incredibly inspiring, and her drive to be your own boss is something I aspire to be. The best piece of advice I got from her podcast is out of every 10 nos, always expect 1 yes. It’s hard as an agency owner to be able to wear all the hats, and sometimes we do get a lot of denials, but for every denial there will always be a yes to look forward to!
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
High Tide Media Company originally started out as my college summer job that I created to give myself experience in the social media marketing field. I worked with small businesses in my hometown in Connecticut and gained significant experience doing so. I knew that I wanted to grow High Tide into something more once I graduated, and spent a good portion of the last two years working on being able to launch it fully. I’m proud to say that since November 2023, I have been doing this full-time!
