In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
I love nothing more than terrible puns. So when I started making art, greeting cards became a fun, happy project-I could use silly puns and create cards that people enjoyed. While I love working at markets and getting to see my customer face to face and hear what they love and want to see more of, my health makes it difficult. Last year I pivoted towards doing more wholesale products so that I could really focus on the markets that I love the most!
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
I am a 45 year old mom who took a really long time figuring out what they wanted to be when they grew up! I never saw myself as an artist, but bit by bit that changed and I wanted to share that art with the world. I really believe in the power of the little things–that note you sent out of the blue to a friend, the sticker that never fails to make you smile, the notebook that you love to use. After starting my art journey, I discovered there was a whole world of art for those products and my love of surface design was born. While the world around us is in a lot of turmoil, I deeply believe that those small gestures to our loved ones and community can help not only brighten our days, but help bring us together.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?

Recently we went to NYC and we saw the musical Operation Mincemeat. It’s a musical based on a WW2 operation, and while it’s silly and music is catchy, there’s a quiet moment where the characters talk about how fascism takes hold from within when people don’t do something about it and that really stayed with me.

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
Probably that I didn’t really see myself as an artist until very recently. And that I usually cry before I teach a class (it’s the anxiety!)
