In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.

I’m a small confectionary business that specializes in handmade artisanal chocolate. I’m self-taught and still learning, but I’d love to grow both as a chocolatier and small business owner within the community with like-minded people.

Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.

I’ve always had a passion for trying something new, especially in the kitchen. I’ve always loved cooking and concocting; and when I discovered chocolate-making, I fell in love with not only the process but the opportunity to be very creative with different recipes, designs, and ideas. It takes a lot of precise TLC to make these small treats, but when they finally come out as intended it’s always so worth it–they’re truly a labor of love!

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)

Chocolate-making always felt very out of reach for someone like me, it always seemed like it was job for expensive machines and large corporations. However when I learned that I could do it myself, it still felt like a very far-fetched idea, but I was curious enough to try it.

The goal of my business is really to not only encourage me to be creative but to share with others not to be discouraged when faced with something new and different.

What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?

I have a 20-month tornado named Frankie Albert. He enjoys balls, destruction, and coloring on the walls. He also is my #1 taste-tester and fan!
