In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Hi! I’m Sarah, the spooky creator behind Salem With Sarah on TikTok. I started my page in 2021 to give people around the world a glimpse of the home I love so much during a time when the pandemic made the Witch City a bit quieter than usual.
Starting with walks around my neighborhood and downtown, in the past two years Salem With Sarah has evolved to showcase Salem’s incredible culture and history. My videos often begin with an invitation for you to “come with me” to dinner, a market, one of Salem’s unique museum’s, or any of our special events year-round.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
My work is deeply rooted in a reverence for Salem’s history and respect for our local community of businesses, creators, and artists. I want to showcase what there is to love and explore in Salem year-round, including and outside of October and Halloween—and I am passionate about sharing that with a larger audience!
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
I often feature small makers, creators, artists, and businesses on my page. I always want to support Salem’s creative community—without them, we wouldn’t have the Salem we know today.
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca—incredible queer horror stories with important messages.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
I had a near-ten minute long conversation with Julia Fox about Salem, all because of TikTok!
