Starbird is for the curious to the connoisseur who seek fun, relaxation, and balance on the North Shore. We are the newest adult-use retail cannabis store, and we are dedicated to ensuring that high quality, craft cannabis will be the standard, for all price ranges. We are woman owned, Alaska native owned, Salem locals.
Conveniently located at 2 Bridge Street in Salem, the last stop before you cross the bridge going to Beverly. Make us your first stop when visiting Salem, and shop the wide range of products we offer. Our knowledgable staff care about helping you find exactly what you need. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions about our products, and guide you through the process in an inviting atmosphere.

Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
I’ve lived in Salem for the past 12 years with my husband (and business partner) Tim, our two kids, two cats, and dog Roxy. We love the North Shore, and if we’re not at Starbird (or our restaurant Bambolina), we’re probably on the water.
We ventured into the cannabis industry after my grandma Flo opened a cannabis retail store, and my cousin opened a cultivation facility in Washington state. It almost felt like getting into the family business. We love adventures, and cannabis was an emerging and exciting industry, brand new to Massachusetts, so we decided to go for it.
We live and work in Salem, so it’s always been our top priority to create someplace that we want in our city. It’s important for us to offer top quality products in every price range, and to know about our products and where they came from. We care about our customers because many of them are our neighbors, and want to give them the best experience possible.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
We are displaying a local artist’s work in our store, and hope to collaborate with local artists for products we will sell in the future. Creativity is what brings individuals and businesses together to create a community. We love collaborations, and events, and can’t wait to see what that will look like for us!
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder. It’s about new motherhood and the changes and alienation that come with it. My kids are older now, but this book really tapped into how I felt as a new mother. And there’s a bit of magic in it.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
I love to travel! We went on a family vacation to India earlier this year, and fell in love with the country.
