In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
I taught myself to sew to create cool booster seat covers for kids. I found with my own kids growing up that they used their booster seat A LOT, there was no difference between their seats and their friends so I would cover them with cool fabric to add a lil’ spark of joy and a sense of ownership. It has taken me many prototypes, conversations, and years to build a product that I am so very proud of that can serve my mission: to bring joy, comfort, and individuality to children while also being practical for parents. The 4 to 8-year-old child is soooo very smart and with so much going on with school, extra activities, and friends, I really just want to create special lil’ vibe for them.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
My passion for my kid covers comes from a place of knowing I am building a product that hasn’t been done before. I want our covers to be the product that parents didn’t know they needed, yet once they have it, they can’t live without it because the child identifies with it, like a favorite stuffed animal.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
I’ve been a single mom since my kids were 2 & 4 and never missed a moment of our great journey together. That was also when I started mastering the art of dog training and I have been running my own business here on the North Shore, Balanced and Behaved Dog Training, for the past 15 years.
