Centerboard

Centerboard is a nonprofit human services organization located in downtown Lynn, Massachusetts. Our mission is to revitalize communities through its people and places. We support families and young people through housing, access to employment, education, and financial empowerment.

Our Impact:

• 80 families on average are helped each month through the Family Resource Center
• 95% of youth leave Centerboard with a savings account of at least $1,000
• 92 families found permanent housing in 2022 with the help of our housing department

Key Programs and Services:

1. Family Forward Resource Center

   • Parenting skills workshops
   • Self-help groups
   • Financial workshops
   • Education programs
   • Resource referral services

2. T.R.U.E. Mentor Program

   • Academic and social support for boys ages 6 to 18
   • Group and one-on-one programming

3. Mental Health Advocacy Program for Kids (MHAP for Kids)

   • Improves access to mental health services for at-risk youth
   • Embeds specially-trained attorneys in Family Resource Centers

4. Housing Services

   • 272 units of scattered/transitional housing
   • Rapid rehousing and intensive case management
   • Youth & Young Adult Group Residence (YYAGR)
   • Young Adult Supported Living (YASL)

5. We Rise Program

   • Supports survivors of commercial sexual exploitation
   • Community outreach, emergency intervention, and ongoing support

6. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Initiatives

   • Over 8,500 staff hours dedicated to DEI work
   • Partnerships to promote inclusion in Essex County nonprofits
