Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. announced that the 38th Annual International Festival will take place on Sunday, September 10 th, from 11 am to 5 pm in downtown Peabody. “The International Festival is Peabody’s signature community event and the biggest party on the North Shore,” said Mayor Bettencourt. “It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our ethnic and cultural diversity through food, art, and entertainment. We are grateful that North Shore Bank will once again be the Title Sponsor of this year’s Festival.”
The International Festival is free and open to the public and has something for everyone. Along Main Street, various ethnic foods will be featured with a wide variety of booths and affordable cuisine options. The Galleria Tent on Foster Street will feature artwork created by talented North Shore artists. Creative Collective is hosting the Artisan Market on Foster Street and has curated a selection of diverse creators from all over the region. The International Festival Artisan Market will allow many underserved small businesses to feature creations and wares worldwide. Last but certainly not least, continuous entertainment will be featured throughout the course of the day on two stages.
Children and families will enjoy visiting the Kid’s Corner at the East End Veteran’s Memorial Park on Walnut Street. Music, arts & crafts, moon bounces, a magician, dancing demonstrations, and much more will be featured all day.
The Progeria International Race for Research will kick off festival weekend on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. On-site registration at the Leather City Common on Lowell Street begins at 7:45 a.m. The race will feature a 5K road race and a 2-mile fun run/walk – a great course for the serious athlete, the casual runner, families, and teams. This fun-filled morning includes awards and refreshments for all. Put your happy feet on and join us for the city’s biggest and best road race!
