In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Lightshed Photography Studio was established in 2007 upon Dan and Kendra’s graduation from Hallmark Institute of Photography. Together with Rob they opened their first studio in Peabody, Massachusetts. Just a few short years later they moved the studio to Salem, Massachusetts where they grew from a three person team to a five person team. The studio is able to offer a wide range of services as each photographer has their own specialty, covering everything from maternity, newborn, family, real estate and headshot photography.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
Dan splits his time between running the business, chasing his three year old, and traveling around Greater Boston photographing PR and Real Estate photography. The commercial Yin to Kendra’s portrait Yang, he oversees all the B2B operations of Lightshed and enjoys working with folks one on one to create polished and effective media marketing tools for any industry or individual.
As an expert photographer, Kendra focuses on capturing beautiful fine art maternity, newborn and family portraits. With more than 15 years of experience, she takes pride in her ability to produce custom heirloom quality artwork that her clients will treasure forever.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
Dan, Kendra and the team are constantly pursuing their creative visions with clients to produce concepts to aid in the creative side of marketing business as well as to capture many family milestones.
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
It’s hard to pin point just one as we are all constantly reading books/articles and watching video to further out education in the photography field. Currently we have been focusing on the social media side of education.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
This is our 15th year in business!
