Montserrat College of Art, founded in 1970, by artists, for artists, offers a BFA program with concentrations in animation + interactive media, book arts, graphic design, illustration, interdisciplinary arts, painting + drawing, photography + video, printmaking and sculpture. Small by design, our 400 creative-minded students work and live in a vibrant downtown environment 3 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and five train stops to Boston. In addition to the BFA program, the college offers year-round continuing education classes for teens and adults. Four galleries exhibit works by international, national and regional contemporary artists, all of which are free and open to the public and intended to offer art education beyond the Montserrat classrooms through a series of public lectures, gallery talks, catalogs and events.
