In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
The Hippie Bean Co. is a hand-dyed apparel brand built on creativity, inclusivity, and color. What started as a way to make my son’s wardrobe more fun quickly grew into a full-blown small business built around joy, confidence, and self-expression. We offer one-of-a-kind tie-dye apparel, custom orders, bulk designs, and interactive patch bars for events and pop-ups. Every piece is made with heart , no matter your shape, size, or style, I want you to feel confident and beautiful in your Hippie Bean creation.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
Hi! I’m Remy Collins, I’m 31-year-old mama to two amazing boys who inspire everything I do. I started The Hippie Bean Co. when I realized how dull and repetitive baby clothes were and wanted to bring more color and personality into my son’s closet. Over time, it became more than clothing but instead it became a creative outlet and a way to connect with people who love feeling unique and confident in what they wear. My passion is helping others feel seen, celebrated, and comfortable expressing themselves through color and creativity. I am a huge advocate of being a SAHM & love the freedom my business has provided for myself & my family.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
Recently, I listened to an episode of “The Local Babes Co” podcast, which I actually co-host! We were talking about balancing motherhood, business, and boundaries. Even though I was part of the conversation, hearing it back reminded me how far I’ve come and how powerful it is to build a community where women can be honest, vulnerable, and real about the highs and lows of running a business and raising a family.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
Most people are surprised to learn that I hand-dye every single piece myself! There is no big production line, just a mama in her creative flow (sometimes with a baby on her hip). Every swirl and color combo is unique, and that’s part of what makes The Hippie Bean Co. so special. I also run patch bars and tie-dye parties completely on-the-go, transforming ordinary spaces into bright, creative, hands-on experiences for any special events as well.
