Meet the Member: Salem Kids Tours

Hi Creative Collective! I’m Alicia, owner of Salem Kids Tours in Salem, MA, where I lead the city’s only walking tours created specifically for kids and families. I started Salem Kids Tours because I believe kids deserve more than lists of facts and dates, long-winded lectures, or stories meant to scare them — my mission is nothing short of getting kids hooked on history. My tours use interactive storytelling to explore the real people and events of Salem’s past (including the Salem Witch Trials) in ways that are engaging, thoughtful, and genuinely fun for curious young minds. They’re designed especially for ages 6+ and families who want their kids to leave saying, “History is actually cool!”

In addition to tours, I love collaborating with museums and historic sites to bring great children’s programming to life. I’d love to help develop engaging programs, family experiences, and school field trips that connect young audiences with history and place.

Through Creative Collective, I’d especially love to connect with educators who might want to create offerings for visiting families in Salem — particularly early childhood educators who enjoy working with toddlers and preschoolers, since my tours are best for ages 6+ and I’m often contacted by parents with younger children.

I’m a deacon at First Church in Salem, which has beautiful historic spaces available for rentals. If you’re looking for a place to host a talk, workshop, or presentation, I’d be happy to show you the space.
