Sevenings: About No Limits Edition

Sevening (v.): the act of showing up after seven(ish) for your people, your community, and honestly yourself for the weird, wild, wonderful, and worthy. Essex County’s been doing it all along.

New to ‘sevening’? No worries at all. Get the full def and deets in our About Time Edition. Go ahead. We’ll wait.

Oh hey there, Essex County. Did you know ‘sevenings’ has no limits? We did. And now so do you. You’re welcome.

Ready for round three of ‘sevening’? Of course you are. And we are too. Back on shift, different week. Once again, it’s (unforever) yeong and the (s)evening shift, with even more ‘sevenings’. Essex County was so ‘sevening’ last week what with the silent book club, ice cream wellness, Jaws viewing, stand-up comedy, sipping & knitting, beech tree tiki party, spring fling fundraiser, K-pop takeover, Vampire Lounge, and Jazz Sundays. Essex County sevenings for this week? We’re on it. That’s our county we’re covering – just us for you. This week’s ‘sevenings’ is limitless (as in no age limit) – and that’s the only limit we know. Aight, this week’s ‘sevenings’ isn’t going to be sevening itself. Shall we? We shall.

RAW Art Works Presents Art Week 2026 at 6:00 PM Event poster for "Real to Reel Film Screening: UNDERCURRENTS" at The Cabot, Beverly, MA, on 5/26, 6-8 PM. Celebrate Essex County youth filmmaking—cartoon scuba-diving rabbit with a camera marks 26 creative years.

What does a cartoon rabbit in scuba gear have to do with art? Everything, apparently and RAW Art Works will explain it all at the Real to Reel (R2R) Film Screening at The Cabot. The theme is Undercurrents, which is very deep, because RAW knows there’s always more going on beneath the surface. Something’s been bubbling up in these young North Shore filmmakers and we can’t wait to see what the tide is bringing in. Short films. Big feelings. Live Q&A with the filmmakers after. Come for the art. Stay for the questions. And do we got questions. These kids have something to say and honestly? So does Essex County.

Logo with the text "Lynn NAGLY" in colorful, bold letters. Below it reads "NORTH SHORE ALLIANCE OF GLBTQ YOUTH." Featuring a rainbow "N," it's a vibrant symbol for Essex County's LGBTQ+ community and CCE Nightlife events. NAGLY Lynn at Centerboard FRC at 5:30 PM

Listen up, GLBTQIA+ youth in Lynn – do we have ‘sevenings’ for you? Bet. NAGLY has a drop-in policy and a snack policy, and both are quite fab (totally yeong approved). Weekly drop-in programming for ages 14–23 with friends, peers, activities, support, and snacks. YES snacks! Om nom nom. Consider this your standing weekly invitation with us, your people who are genuinely glad you are ‘sevening’. No RSVP required. Just you. Give Tony and Younes high-fives for us. Or not. Whatever.

Pour & Petals @ The NexMex Thing at 6:30 PM Join us for "Pour & Petal: Floral Candle Creations" at NexMex Thing in Peabody, MA on May 28 at 6:30 PM! Enjoy Essex County nightlife with food, fun, and crafts for $55 per person. Don’t miss this creative Sevenings event!.

Create & Escape has an event that really poured everything into the experience (but no experience needed, honey) – and then added flowers, chips, and salsa. What?! Get poured a margarita and nosh on chips and salsa as you get your craft on with a candle you poured yourself and a floral wood topper you designed yourself. Feeling even more crafty? Order up some steak fajitas and create the perfect arrangement. You’ll earn the distinction of someone who made something with their own two hands that you can wax poetic about later. But Instagram it for now. We’re just saying.

A smiling person opens a yurt flap. Inset images show a drink, snacks, and the cozy yurt interior. Text advertises "Sober Curious Sister Circles" in Ipswich, MA—part of Essex County’s CCE Nightlife—for $60, on the last Thursday of every month. Sober Curious Sister Circle In Person at 7:00 PM

No spirits allowed or needed, but your own. There’s a new kind of gathering in town and it’s all about the ‘sevening’. Come to the yurt where the spirit is very much alive, but no spirits can be found. Discover a community of women who come together for real connections without alcohol, but with creative play, breathwork, personal development, and the kind of deep-belly laughter that only comes from a yurt full of women who are ‘sevening’. Katie, integrative wellness coach at Mindful Constitution, hosts these monthly circles for creative, sober and sober-curious women with a different theme each time. We are so(ber) here for this. For real. Grateful for this sober ‘sevening’. Let’s get connected.

A man with dark dreadlocks and a short beard wears a dark suit and white shirt, standing in front of a modern staircase at Sevenings in Essex County. He has a calm expression and is buttoning his jacket. Arcana: Exploring the Deep Mysteries of the Tarot at 7:00 PM

If you thought tarot was just a deck of illustrated cards and some vibes, we would like a word. Or two. Probably more. Definitely more. So the cards have spoken and the Page of Cups has been drawn. Come with openness and wonder as you have a creative beginning and divine your intuitive learning. Pentagram Shoppe is laying it all on the table with a deep dive into tarot’s hidden layers: alchemy, astrology, Qabalah, ceremonial magick, and Thelema. It’s giving major arcana energy. So esoteric. Hex yeah, we said what we said.

Glow Nights at 5:30 PM

A child with curly hair and bracelets kneels in a blue, starry area, playing with animal figurines. Four animal toys surround them as stars twinkle in the background, evoking the magic of CCE Nightlife in Essex County.Things are really coming to light at Sandmagination where ‘sevening’ means glowing sand, black lights, and glow crafts in a studio that’s already magical during the day. Talk about limitless ‘sevening’! AND a special ‘sevening’ for families and kids (and anyone who wants to play with glowy things in the dark like me!), but it won’t be around forever. Treat yourself – and maybe your kids too, if you’re feeling generous. Just let your inner glow-getter run wild. Come into the dark. Glow out absolutely lit.

Event poster with a colorful abstract background. Text reads: "Friday, May 29, Gulu Gulu, Salem MA—part of Essex County’s CCE Nightlife. In collaboration with MOON BASE ONE. Tiny the Bear, Dylan Patrick Ward, Yes, Chef! Doors 7pm; Music 8pm; No cover.Tiny the Bear, Dylan Patrick Ward, Yes Chef! at 8:00 PM

Tiny the Bear, Dylan Patrick Ward, and Yes Chef! walk into Gulu-Gulu. The special of the day is in the key of G. What is this, some kind of yeong pun? Yes, but per is still workshopping the punchline. Moon Base One is cooking up quite a night with 3 music acts, 1 stage, and 0 dollars. Yes, you read that right. Hope the band gets Stage Fright (the drink, honey). What’d you think I meant? Oh my. I’m hoping for a sucker punch and This or That. My menu fave and go to – Buy A Round For The Kitchen. Seriously. Free music. Essex County, get ‘sevening’.

Nocturne Book Club Presents an Evening with Codie Crowley at 7:00 PM

What’s your body count? Hold on, I’m still tabulating on my abacus. A childhood deal with a monster, a Jersey Shore prom massacre, and queer feminist slasher fiction – wait, what – who told her about my past life? JK, it wasn’t on the shore. Or was it? Body Count is the read. Nocturne is the scene. And the convo is gonna be killer. Literally. Codie Crowley is in the building for a live discussion, book signing, and community gathering all in one. Bring your copy. Get it signed. Add yourself to the body count. Femme out and slay accordingly. Don’t get got. Or do.

Promotional poster for the "Heroes Off Duty Comedy Tour" featuring CCE Nightlife, with photos of several comedians, event date—Saturday, May 30 in Beverly, MA at The Cabot—plus spotlights, caution tape, and a nod to Essex County nightlife. Heroes Off Duty Comedy Tour at 7:30 PM

Is there a doctor in the house? Why yes, yes there are, and more than that. First responders, firefighters, EMTs, nurses, doctors, and veterans are making their way to the stage at The Cabot, but no worries because it’s a comedy show, not a crisis. Actual heroes, you know, the ones who show up when things go very badly – have decided to moonlight as comedians, which honestly is just another form of public service. A night of stand-up comedy built from the wild, weird, and genuinely unbelievable moments of life on the front lines. They protect and serve, but tonight the only thing they’re protecting is the punchline and serving up jokes forged from real-life chaos. This is not a drill. Thank them for their service by ‘sevening’.

Roomful of Blues at 7:30 PM

A jazz and blues band with eight musicians pose with their instruments, including saxophones, trumpet, upright bass, guitar, and microphone. Text reads: "Roomful of Blues, Jazz and Blues, May 31, 2026, Firehouse Center for the Arts – part of CCE Nightlife in Essex County. They’ve been at it since before most streaming platforms existed, like 1970. Yes, that 1970. Best decade to be born, at least that’s the word on the street. And the receipts? Seven Blues Music Awards, Five Grammy nominations, DownBeat Critics’ Poll nod (twice), and Blues Music Magazine called them the best little big band in blues. We’re not arguing. Neither should you. Over 55 years of horn-powered, house-rocking blues still bringing jump, swing, R&B, and soul to the Firehouse Center for the Arts. The most decorated horn-powered blues band in the game showing up in Essex County like it’s nothing. It’s not nothing. Don’t get the blues about missing it. Get the blues experiencing it.

Consider this your third sign from the universe. ‘Sevenings’ has no limits and neither do we.
